Not worth buying
Advertised at 3 x48 x75. Well the three is not three inches thick. The blanket is only 1 inch thick if not pulled tight. I suppose the "3" it is the width of the foil tape. The package says good for up to a 60 gal hot water tank. Baloney. My tank is a 50 gallon normal height. the blanket does not wrap around the tank. It only covers about 3/4 of it at best. WTF. What a piece of crap. Now I have to purchase another blanket to finish wrapping the tank if I want full coverage. I say look for a different one before you buy this unless you want to buy another blanket.
Working well ,,,
Easy to install, if I say that you know it's true as I am no handy person. Insturctions easy to understand. (see first sentence) Not quite enough tape, at least for me so I reccommend you purchase additional roll (inexpensive) so there's no having to worry as you cut and perhaps overcut. (see first sentence again )
Price fair..quick delivery.. 5 STAR overall.
Money Saver!
The water heater in my apartment sits in a utility closet beside the thermostat. That suits me fine during the winter, since I don't have the heat up too high. During the late spring and summer, though, I'm not interested in spending money to air condition the apartment in order to fight the water heater. The waterheater blanket actually slipped into the closet without need for much tape. (I could have done the job without any, really, since the heater is very close to the walls.) My electric bills and my comfort tell me that it is doing the job I wanted, saving me money and helping me to stay cool this summer.
Who knows? Next winter I may remove the blanket for the heating season. (Not kidding.)
