LG OTR 1.8 CF 1100-Watt Microwave, SS

LG Microwave
My 5 year old GE Profile Spacemaker 2 microwave turned out to be junk and I replaced it with an LG. The LG unit was approximately the same size and I had only to change the wall mounting bracket. The mounting holes for the under cabinet type mount matched the GE unit. Within 15 to 20 minutes I had the LG unit installed and working. The LG unit does everything the GE unit did and does so much quieter and at about one-third the price. I expect to get more than 5 years out of this unit; but, if not, I'm still ahead money-wise. The unit was purchased on-line from Amazon which I recommend highly! Great price and I had the unit in a few days.

GE Replacement
The installation was really easy the same bracket from the GE fit the LG perfectly. It was not that heavy and if you are brave you can install it by yourself. I'm 6', 200 lbs (okay 210) and I was able to hold the microwave up, drop the screws in the top from over cabinet and tighten them to the point that the microwave would not fall then I used a latter to finish tightening them from above.

I think the presets are better than the GE I had previously. For example, reheating pizza using the pizza button melts the cheese on top but does not over heat the bread. Overall, it seems to do a better job of heating the entire piece of food not just the middle.

By the time the real quality of this microwave is determined it will be long since discontinued. I based my decision to get an LG on the quality of other LG appliances that I own (washer & dryer and computer monitor). I have been happy with the quality and function of all these appliances and will continue to...

Nice microwave, nice price, easy install!
My wife and I were looking for a microwave oven in the 1100 watt range, and this fit the bill perfectly, and to top it off Amazon had it at a great price. The unit installs easily, but it is strongly recommended that 2 people are there to install it. The unit itself is not all that heavy, but because of its size, it is awkward to handle. The dimensions on Amazon's web page are (I'm assuming) the size of the shipping container. The unit itself is 29.875"W x 17.75"H x 15.875"D(from[...].

I had to take a moment to understand the directions - distributed between a manual and 2 templates. But once I got it, the install was a snap. The kit comes with a U shaped mounting bracket which requires at least 5 bolts(all necessary hardware is supplied) to mount it to the wall. 4 of the bolts are toggle bolts which requires a 5/8" hole. The last is a lag bolt requiring a 3/16" hole and MUST BE ANCHORED INTO A STUD. The underside of the top supporting surface requires 3 x 1/2" holes for 3...
