Green manufacturing, great price & No problems
Received the SGF-G9 as pictured which evidently replaces the G1 even though product description says SGF-G1. Filter came sealed in plastic. Filtration ratings are exactly the same for both products. Filled with water & soaked as instructed & filter went in with no problem although did have to push up on the filter rather firmly to get it to go in & had a small bit of spillage from the filled filter as it went in and was turned, but no leaks after turning & sealed. Good flow & mine had no loose carbon dust evident during soaking or initial 1 gallon purge. Water is good. Really like the fact of green environmental manufacture process (hope it's true & not hype!!). Great pricing on this compared to the GE MWF filter it replaced. Noticed the same company (Global Shop Stop) also offers the SGF-G1 with correct SGF-G1 picture for $1 cheaper...old stock?

Nice Replacement for OE Filter at almost half the price and it definitely fit my GE refrigerator. I recommend this product.
Water leaves a film.
I just installed this filter on my GE refrigerator and I'm not happy with it. We have a water fountain for our cat and water from this filter leaves a slimy film on the fountain. We have never had this problem previously!!! We had always used the GE filter.
